Nellie L. Bushman is a Christian writer, mother, grandmother, teacher at heart, and founder of Lighthouse & Lantern Co.

Nellie’s faith in Jesus Christ is at the center of her life and an important part of why Lighthouse & Lantern Co. was created. She believes the gifts we are given should be used to serve others, share hope, and leave something meaningful behind.

After spending more than two decades building a career around teaching, problem-solving, and helping others, Nellie felt called to create something with a different kind of purpose. Lighthouse & Lantern Co. grew from a desire to create books, stories, and printed resources that shine light — whether by sharing the message of Jesus Christ, teaching a child, encouraging someone through a difficult season, or simply inspiring people to do good in the world.

Nellie treasures her family and especially cherishes being a wife, mother, and grandmother. When she isn’t writing or creating, she loves spending time with her husband and family, helping others, and enjoying life with her two dogs and two cats.

Her work includes Christian books and resources as well as children’s stories that encourage imagination, independence, kindness, character, and learning. Through books, journals, posters, bookmarks, cards, and other printed materials, she hopes to create things that people will read, keep, display, share, and pass along to someone who needs them.

Above all, Nellie hopes her work reflects the faith that guides her own life and points others toward hope, truth, love, and the light found in Jesus Christ.

Light matters. Words matter. People matter. And even a small lantern can help someone find their way.
